TURKISH CHILDREN
We found the children of Turkey captivating. We couldn't
get the kind of candid shots we would have liked because people in Turkey are generally
more reticent about getting their pictures taken than what we found in other parts of the
world.. And it is impolite to take pictures of children without first getting
permission from their parents.
This little boy has the beautiful, plaintive eyes which
we found throughout Turkey.
These little boys, playing in the dirt reminded us of children
everywhere.
This little girl's relative (in the background) gave me
permission to take her picture.
We bought a camel from this child's mother, giving us permission
to take the picture.
This guy flirted with me and invited us to take many pictures at
a country wedding we attended in Mardin. He enjoyed standing in front of the camera as we
were taking pictures. As we were leaving I was able to get a shot of him, as his
friends teased him.
Russian Children
In Russia we didn't have many
opportunities to capture pictures of children. One thing we did notice is that they
were often dressed in their finest no matter what their parents were wearing. This
little girl was with her parents at the open air market in Yaroslavl.
This little girl was
waiting outside the church in Yaroslav for the concert to begin and her expression was
typical of children waiting the world over. "When is it going to start?"
